We're entitled, we're selfish, we're lazy, we're dumber than past generations...I've heard all of this and more.
I've always tried to believe that these stereotypes can from outliers in society, which wasn't hard for me personally to think since my friends and the people I know personally do not fit this mold and defy these stereotypes. I even have a story in production at work right now that talks about how students would rather be involved in the community than vote, since they know volunteering and activism has a greater impact on policy than simply voting and then expecting good results.
And then...this came out, and I began to wonder: are my friends and I the real outliers?
For now, I need more time to reflect on this. But what do you think? Is my generation really that bad - or is the situation more complicated than a study can reflect?
